3D Animation: Philippine Flag

Things to note in using Dynamics (nMesh/nCloth/nConstraints):
1. Flagpole: passive collider
2. rope: nCloth (increase Rigidity)
3. flag: the more polygons the smoother the movements; triangulate; nCloth

3D Human Anatomy: Kidneys

Just experimented with probably the easiest to model among the organs of the human body: the Kidneys.

The model includes the 2 Kidneys, a portion of the Inferior Vena Cava, Descending Aorta, renal arteries and veins, and urethra. The Adrenal Glands were not included.

I think I just realized that I'm my models (in this blog) have a lot of blues and reds. Although I know it can't be helped when you're modeling the human body 'cause the veins and arteries are usually depicted as blue (veins) and red (arteries) to show the difference.

Animation Project: CHESS 3D

This is my first 3d animation video which I created as a final project for my 3D Arts Certification Program.

It's generally a short Ad (lasting a little above 2 minutes) about a fictional mobile game app called CHESS 3D.

So why chess?

I started learning how to play chess just a few months before I started this animation project. I figured that since I liked my progress and my addiction on playing the game on mobile devices got more and more intense that I should may as well create an animation based on the usual "Well, what if...?"

What if there's a mobile game app that's not only in 3D, but also allows you to customize your color, background, movements and attack styles? That would be amazing, or in the least more exciting than the usual chess games you see.

*** This animation was created using Autodesk Maya 2012, Adobe After Effects, and Adobe Photoshop.

3D: Manila Post Office

UPDATE (10.22.2012): Created a bit of a simple background for the scene and rendered using Maxwell Render.

I'm currently working on creating a 3d representation of the Manila Post Office.

Initially I wanted to create it based on images of the building PRE-war. However, since I haven't had the chance to personally take photographs of the building yet, I had to rely on pictures that are easily accessible on the internet. Unfortunately, those pictures are mostly POST-war.

I do, however, made myself promise to visit either UP Diliman's Library or the National Library to look for photographic references for future projects.

3D: Apache AH-64

This model is now available at 3Dexport.com. I do realize that I might need to upload the file to other formats. I'll get right on it as soon as I can.

3D Challenge: Apache AH-64

I created this 3D model as one of my projects for school. While doing this model, I realized that I actually found this easier to do than a car.

This is my take on that challenge

3D Challenge: Teeth and Gums

This challenge took me about 2 hours. Since this is my first time to model a set of teeth, I followed a tutorial from a Character Modeling book. I also used a general picture of a set of teeth as reference guide but didn't follow it strictly.

Here's my take on the challenge:

Here is the rough breakdown of the process:
